West Coast November

Speaking of all the best places closing, another of my favorites, Red Hook Bait and Tackle, is closing in January. It only makes sense to put together one last show there before they shut their doors for good. Friday, November 10th, my band will be playing there on a bill with Heather Eatman and the Tall Pines. I’d love for you to join us!

And November 11th, I’ll be traveling out to Portland, Orgeon with Susan Hwang and Charlie Nieland to perform with the Portland branch of the Bushwick Book Club. We’ll be writing songs, making snacks, film and other art about Chuck Palahniuk’s (author of Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, etc) new book, Legacy: An Off Color Novella For You To Color. The author will be present and is organizing some games and prizes for the evening. If you live in the area, come to the show! Here’s an interview with Palahniuk in Hollywood Soapbox about his book where he talks about the upcoming Bushwick Book Club shows.

As long as I’m out there, I’ll be playing at show with Lusterlit (sharing the bill and backing me up!) in Seattle on November 12th. We’re also sharing the bill with Don Rauf and some other Seattle locals.

And then we’re heading to LA for the 3rd installment of the Palahniuk shows which is happening at the Last Book Store on November 16th. I hope to see you out there!

Here’s a picture of me pretending to be Stevie Nicks (with John Brodeur, Jeff Litman and James Preston) at last week’s Tom Petty tribute at HiFi.
