I just got back from an epic tour of Europe with Freddie Stevenson and Joe Chester. We were playing Freddie’s songs from his beautiful, new album, The Darkening/The Brightening, which was co-produced by Mike Scott, and supporting the (amazing!!!!!) Waterboys all over Europe. We drove from London to Spain, to Italy, Switzerland to Germany, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden to Norway and then back to the UK. It was an pleasure to sing and play harmonium on Freddie’s songs. I love his songwriting and this album in particular is a gem ( buy it here!). It was also a huge perk to get to listen to the Waterboys every night, who are an incredible force to be reckoned with (buy albums etc here!)
A major highlight for me was getting to play the harmonium with the Waterboys on our last night in Oslo on Fisherman’s Blues ( see picture below, taken by HRoiseth -thank you!).
I have seen and heard many new things. I am a changed and grateful woman.
Here are some of my favorite pictures from this trip. There are so many to choose from, I’m trying to restrain myself. If you’re interested in seeing more, you can follow me on Instagram at @jessiekilguss
